Coronavirus (Covid-19) Update

Georgetown Fire is currently locked down due to COVID-19. Visitors are not allowed at any station. If you have an emergency, please dial 911. If you must visit a station for an emergency, please use the phone on the front of the station to call 911 and the appropriate resources will be routed to your location. The main office will remain closed to the public. Please call during business hours for business needs. (530) 333-4111

First, we want to assure you that GFD is taking the concerns over the Virus seriously.

We are participating in a daily conference call with 80 county health officials.

If you have or suspect you have, symptoms that may be Covid-19 (flu-like symptoms), Specific protocols have been issued on what actions should be taken.

In the meantime, we are meeting with CAL FIRE, County Fire, and others on Tuesday afternoon and will make a decision then on our Town Hall scheduled for the 21st at 1300 hours and one in Cool at 1600 hours.

In the meantime;
1)  Wash your hands often
2)  Stay home if you feel sick
3)  Drink lots of water
4)  Be extra vigilant
5)  Have conversations about safety and precautions with family and loved ones.

Georgetown Fire Department responded to a fire at Georgetown School yesterday

I continue to be impressed with my department, partner agencies and our community. The school did a great job of evacuating and being available to the fire department. Georgetown Fire had a great response with 10 personnel and assistance from several of our fire service partners.
