The Georgetown Fire Department is keeping well informed into the activities on the CALDOR FIRE in El Dorado County. Our area is not in any immediate danger and we are comfortable that the Unified Command System of CAL FIRE and the USFS will be providing us timely updates if that should change in the future.
The Fire is at over 65,000 acres this morning and is expected to get significantly larger, and take several weeks, before it is completely under control.
Georgetown Fire, along with our Divide partners (Garden Valley Fire and Mosquito Fire) will be attending daily briefings to ensure that we have current information and are up to date on any changes regarding our areas.
Please continue to monitor our social media and website for information and make sure you sign up for Code Red notification through the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office.
