Georgetown Fire Department responded to a Traffic Collision on 12-28-19

The Georgetown Fire Department, along with units from Garden Valley Fire and Cal Fire responded to a Traffic Collision on Saturday night at 9:41 p.m.  at Wentworth Springs in the area of Chipmunk Trail.  Crews found an SUV impaled on a tree with significant intrusion into the driver’s door area. This pinned the driver, an approximately 30-year-old male, was the only person in the vehicle.  The extrication of the patient involved an hour and 45 minute effort by crews from the three agencies.  Several Jaws of Life, Sawzall tools, Rams and even a winch were used to complete the extrication safely.

The patient was flown to a trauma center by a medical helicopter.
